A visit to Évora

Évora is worth a visit in anyone´s list. One of the country´s most historic locations, it has been inhabited since before Roman times. They came in 57BC. Traces of their time can still be seen, especially the ruined temple.

Èvora is about 3 hours drive from the Algarve, 80 minutes or so from Lisbon.

A day trip from Lisbon is easy by bus, possible but not easy by train as there are so few of them. A day trip from the Algarve except by driving is not feasible. The trip by coach (bus) takes 3hrs 15 minutes and the timetable is such that you would have less than 5 hours in the city. See http://www.algarvebus.info/evora.htm for transport information.
