Walk around the Medway Valley 23rd April 2014

It was a nice day, just a few spots of rain. I took a train from Tonbridge the short distance to Wateringbury and then took a walk around the area through Barming Heath, Teston and East Farleigh. Only around 30 miles from London, but almost a world apart.

Here’s the area and the approximate route I took. Click to see full size.

If you would like to visit the same area, Wateringbury and East Farleigh stations have trains every hour, seven days a week,  on the Paddock Wood – Maidstone West – Strood line. Connections from London are available at both Paddock Wood and Strood. Wateringbury has frequent buses, Sundays included, l from Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone with Arriva Buses. East Farleigh has an hourly bus weekdays and Saturdays from Maidstone, also with Arriva.

There is a Premier Inn hotel at Wateringbury on the main road, just to the east of the village centre.
