Here are my pictures of the São Rafael, Sesmarias and eastern end of Galé. This areas is between two and three miles (3.2 – 5km) west of Albufeira old town. It sits on a high ridge. Access to the beaches is down narrow lanes and often, for the final few yards, down steep ramps and / or steps. The area is mainly holiday villas and hotels, there is a very small resident population. Unfortunately the area is blighted by a large, abandoned, half built resort complex plus several other smaller derelict sites.
