My camera has died

In Uncategorized on March 23, 2007 by cubsur51

My digital camera has died after 3 1/2 years of good service. Kodak error message E45. I cannot afford to buy another one just now so there will be no photo updates for two or three weeks. I will do my best with narrative!

However the beachside restaurant ‘O Farol’ has now been demolished. The hole just by the Praia dos Pescadores has grown considerably over the past week. Work continues until 9pm each night to lay new pipes. It looks like the pavement surface on the Cais Herculano (where the old tiled shelter is found) is starting to go back. Access to the bars etc around there is still very difficult.

Steve and Anne-Marie are opening Wild Bills (behind the fence) when there is football (eg Saturday 24th) but not regularly during the day. The Cafe Barhon and a couple of other places around there are doing their best to stay open amid the chaos.

The other bars around there are closed except Jojo’s and Silvia’s but they are not opening in the evenings at present. Pedestrian access is just about possible during the day but watch out for loose stones and potholes. Access to the beach is possible by the pier and also (most of the time) down by A Ruina but even that was shut off a couple of days earlier this week.

Any photo contributions (with date taken please) welcomed at cubsur51@hotmail.com to keep us going while I sort out a new camera. yes I know cameras are cheap these days but by the time you add on all the docking stations and stuff it can get pricey!
